Meet the therapist behind
Welcome to Stone & Stream
My name is Grace Terry and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate based in Hutto, Texas. I am supervised by Brandee Smith, LPC-S. I see clients online and plan to be available for in-person sessions in the future. My husband and I have been married for almost a year. We share a dog, an adorable miniature dachshund named Lottie who just turned 9 years old. We enjoy spending time together by taking walks with the dog and going to the lake. I’m happy and honored you found Stone & Stream and look forward to working with you.
A little more about me: My heart for this work is rooted in a deep desire to walk alongside people on their journey toward healing, wholeness, and deeper connection—with themselves, others, and God. I offer counseling from a biblical perspective, holding space for both emotional honesty and spiritual growth as my clients navigate the challenges of life.
Being a therapist is more than just a profession for me—it’s a calling. Years ago, while leading a small group of high school students at church, I sensed that my greatest joy came from creating safe, intentional spaces for people to open up, reflect, and be known. That experience helped me pursue this as a profession and put me on a path to go back to school.
This is my second career, but the thread of this calling has always been there. In my first professional life, I pursued storytelling and journalism, hoping to help people by telling meaningful stories. While that path eventually faded, it led me to something deeper: a way to listen to others’ stories in real time and be part of their healing process.
During my practicum, I had the honor of working with a wide and diverse group of clients, which helped prepare me to launch this practice. Today, I work primarily with adults of all ages and use evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and motivational interviewing, among others. I specialize in:
Relationships and communication
Spirituality and faith integration
Depression and anxiety
Life transitions and identity work
My hope is that Stone & Stream Counseling can be a place of peace and safety for you—a space where you can bring the hard things, move gently through them, and find clarity, healing, and rest along the way.
My approach
Therapy with me is a collaborative and compassionate process. I believe that every person’s story is unique, which means your counseling experience should be unique too. I draw from several approaches—including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic/insight-oriented work—to help us understand your experiences and move toward growth. I also integrate tools like mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and the human growth model when they support your healing.
Because faith is an important part of who I am, I also offer counseling from a biblical perspective for clients who desire it. This means we’ll hold space for both your emotional honesty and your spiritual growth, weaving together mental health and faith in a way that feels safe and supportive.
What to expect in session
My hope is that you find what you’re looking for at Stone & Stream. Your sessions are a place for you to slow down, reflect, and be deeply heard. My role is to walk alongside you with gentleness and care, helping you hold your story while also equipping you with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Some days, therapy might look like digging into patterns from your past that still impact you today. Other times, it may be more focused on learning new strategies to manage anxiety, improve communication, or cope with stress. No matter what, the goal is always to move toward greater safety, peace, and healing—so you can build a life that feels more connected, grounded, and whole.
Payment accepted
At Stone & Stream Counseling, I strive to make my services clear and transparent. Individual sessions are $130 (50 minutes) and couples sessions are $200 (90 minutes). Payment is due at the time of service, and I accept cash, credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.
Stone & Stream is a private pay practice, meaning I do not accept insurance. This is an intentional choice. Insurance often comes with red tape and requires a mental health diagnosis that may not fully capture your experience. By choosing private pay, you have greater privacy and more freedom to shape your care without restrictions from an insurance company. This allows us to focus on your needs, your pace, and the goals that matter most to you.
If you ever need to cancel or reschedule, I ask that you provide at least 24–48 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled with late notice, or missed appointments, may be subject to a fee.
All clients also have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning services, so you’ll always know what to expect with your investment in therapy.
