FAQs
Getting Started
How do I schedule an appointment?
There are two options: You can request an appointment directly through my contact page, and I’ll follow up with next steps; or, you can go to the scheduler and request a day and time from those available. Once your first session is confirmed, you’ll receive an invitation to finish setting up your account on my secure client portal. This is where you can complete your intake forms and set up payment.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I see clients exclusively through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform (Telehealth). At this time, I only see clients within the state of Texas. In the future, I will be able to see clients in the greater Austin, TX, area.
Services & Approach
What types of counseling do you offer?
I work with adults through individual counseling, and I also provide couples counseling.
What can I expect in a session with you?
Sessions are a safe, calm, and supportive space to explore your story. Some days may involve reflecting on past experiences and how they have shaped you, while others may focus on learning practical tools for anxiety, communication, or stress. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies with a biblical perspective for clients who desire it.
Do I have to be Christian to work with you?
Not at all. I welcome clients from all faith backgrounds, as well as those who don’t identify with a faith. For those who desire it, I integrate biblical principles, but it’s always client-led.
Payment & Policies
Do you accept insurance?
No, I am a private pay provider. Insurance often requires a mental health diagnosis and comes with restrictions on care. By being private pay, you have more privacy, flexibility, and freedom in your therapeutic journey.
What are your fees?
Individual counseling: $150 for a 50-minute session
Couples counseling: $225 for a 90-minute session
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, all major credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
A sliding scale is available for both individual and couples counseling. Please inquire and discuss this option with me during your first session. Or you can use the contact form to ask any questions ahead of time.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a late cancellation fee. No-shows will be charged the full session fee. (See my detailed policy in the informed consent.)
Can I get a Good Faith Estimate of costs?
Yes. In compliance with the No Surprises Act, you’ll receive a written Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before beginning services.
Practical Details
Who do you work with?
I work with adults ages 18–80. My areas of focus include relationships, faith integration, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.
How often will I need to come to therapy?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, and we may adjust to biweekly or monthly depending on your needs and progress.
How long will therapy last?
Every person’s journey is unique. Some clients benefit from short-term counseling (a few months), while others find ongoing support helpful over a longer period.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm to self or others, or suspected abuse/neglect). We’ll review this fully during your first session.
Licensure
What does it mean that you are an LPC-Associate?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas. This means I have completed my master’s degree in counseling, passed the national licensing exam, and am provisionally licensed while completing the required hours of supervised clinical experience to become a fully licensed LPC.
As an LPC-Associate, I practice under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. My supervisor provides guidance, consultation, and oversight to ensure that I am offering the highest standard of care to my clients.
For clients, this means you are receiving the same quality of counseling as you would with a fully licensed therapist, with the added benefit that your therapist has direct access to additional professional support and mentorship.
